DOGS - Raw Feeding Resources

Leo at 16 months enjoying his raw meal in his frozen Kong.

First off I am in no way affiliated with anything I am talking about here today. I do not make a dime by recommending these books.

Are you a reader? There are two books I highly recommend. Raw Feeding 101: Beginners Raw Feeding Guide AND A Novice’s Guide to Raw Feeding for Dogs and they are equally excellent. If you're better with groups, the authors of these books; Scott Jay Marshall and Kimberly Gauthier are the best out there on this topic in my opinion. They both have their own private groups and communities. The authors of these books are very active on social media and are very approachable. They each have much to offer their followers, even full customized meal plans. They even offer live Q&As on different platforms are as well.

I can throw things at you all day but getting the foundational knowledge from one of the books is the best place to start. There are groups for Raw Feeders on Facebook but I'd be cautious. The raw feeding groups can be awful, there may be some helpful people in there but you’ve got to weed through them. I personally don't have time for that so I go right to the source however, the Facebook groups of these authors (who are also friends and supporters of each other) are both very active.

Who am I to say? I am a research maniac! I am also a certified holistic nutritionist for humans so I can appreciate the accuracy and guidance needed to help our K9s to get the best nutrition possible. I have been feeding our dogs raw for years.

I realize at the beginning of anything new that things can seem overwhelming. I encourage you to take some time to consider feeding raw and you will find a style that fits your needs and lifestyle. Let’s do away with feeding nutrient-lacking kibble one pup at a time!
