Homemade Salad Dressings - Easy!

For some reason I think a lot of people are intimidated by making their own dressings and I am here to tell you there is no reason to be! I love making them and I put them on all kinds of meals adding so much flavor and texture to the initial meal before me. I really dove in and began making my own when 2 out of the 4 of our family went gluten free. Did you know there is gluten in many salad dressings?! Well thank goodness I did because now I just drizzle these amazing dressings on many of my meals not just salads. These top 3 favorites of mine are quick, easy and very healthy so please try them out!

 Apple Cider Vinaigrette

  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (I use Braggs Organic)

  • 2-3 tbsp fresh squeezed organic lemon juice (if you like it lemony go for 3 tbsp)

  • 3 tbsp grape seed oil, olive oil would work just as well

  • 1/2 tbsp of honey

  • salt and pepper to taste

Add all of the ingredients into your salad dressing jar or container and shake it up – that’s it! Store in fridge.

Tahini Dressing

  • 1 cup tahini

  • 1/2 cup fresh squeezed organic lemon juice

  • 1 garlic clove (more is great but it can get spicy since it’s raw)

  • water (I start with 3/4 cup but slowly add more to reach the consistency I want it at.

  • salt and pepper to taste

I throw all ingredients into the Vita-mix blender for 10 seconds or until it’s just how I like it. Store in fridge.

Peanut Butter Asian Style Dressing

  • 1 cup no salt added smooth peanut butter

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 tbsp fresh grated ginger root

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (I use this one)

  • 2 tbsp coconut milk

Throw it all in the Vitamix or blender and you’re good to go!

NOTE! I have to say it, organic lemons are distinctly better in flavor and in ease of juicing than conventional!
