Variety to Maintain Your Fitness Level

I've said it before..here it comes again...we are creatures of habit. I'm telling you the mold has to be broken not once, not twice but every month or so when it comes to maintaining your fitness level and being able to keep your body challenged.

I remember back when I was in teens.  I competed in gymnastics, worked out every day and thought I was in decent shape. then it happened the event that changed my life forever. I took a cardio kickboxing class. You would have thought I never worked out a day in my life. I came home and crawled into our living room and couldn't move a muscle.

I want you to take a look at what you're doing right now to get in or stay in good physical shape. Have you been doing the same routine for over a month? Do you stick the same exercises or muscle groups? Take the same classes? Go to the same outdoor space to train?

When was the last time to tried something completely brand new to you concern physical fitness? If you can't remember or it was more than a couple months ago that changes now.

Your body needs the challenge. We live pretty different physical lives than people did centuries ago and to be honest I don't see it getting more active, I hope I'm wrong. God gave us these AMAZING bodies but we need to take care of them the best way we know how. If you don't know how, that's when you ask for help from an expert and take the tools they give you and apply them from there on

.When I ask physically fit people or people making big changes in their fitness level what they do for exercise the answers are always fun and interesting! I often hear about them getting out of their comfort zone, doing something they never would have thought they'd like. They make a commitment to be consistent in change! I love hearing these stories and I personally often get great ideas from them and will tag along on some of these fun new (to me) ways of exercising.

So I encourage you to change things up. Get out of the same old routine. Toss whatever you are doing out the window completely and try something new every 4-6 weeks. Don't worry you can always come back to your favorite things! It may feel completely new to you when you do but that is the fun of it! The Bible says to work hard at everything you do with all your heart. So what are you waiting for? What's your next excursion into fitness? Make a plan and get it done!
